Cap Malheureux |
|
|
Right at the northernmost tip of the island, Cap Malheureux
is a beautiful place with azure waters, and a pretty church with a
bright red roof. |
Trou aux Biches |
|
We stayed in an excellent self-catering villa with a terrace and |
|
beautiful garden right on the beach, excellent for
strolling, snorkelling and sunsets. |
Grand Baie |
As the islands premier resort town, Grand Baie
has many shops and restaurants, though not the quietest spot still
worth a visit for it's temples and bay. |
|
Grand Gaube |
|
We stopped off at Grand Gaube for a swim and a snorkel.
The water is not as clear as it is at Trou aux
Biches, but this was easily made up for by seeing a Lion, or
Scorpion Fish. |
Pamplemousses |
|
|
|
These Botanical Gardens are rightly one of the most popular
tourist attractions in Mauritius, though their size ensures they
don't seem busy.
Although home to Giant Tortoise, and the giant water lilies, it's
the many species of palms that dominate the gardens. |
|
Séga |
|
|
Séga is the national dance of Mauritius, an
energetic display of rhythm and colour. Don't miss it! |
Diving |
Kathy took advantage of the peace and quiet afforded
while David was diving to have a rest, and lie in the sun for a
while. |
