The city was home to Greeks, Romans and Byzantines,
the extensive ruins consist of a theatre, the largest stadium in
Turkey, but the best ruins are inside the old city walls.
There are baths, a basilica, the circular towers of the
Hellenistic Gate, and the amazing Agora, with it's many
photogenic standing pillars.
