Another exhausting day at sea! |
Waya Island |
|
We slept in tiny, thatched bure by the beach at the safari village on
Waya Island. Here the crew prepared delicious meals, and entertained us with Kava,
singing and music.

|
Nalauwaki Village |
|
Nalauwaki is over the hill from the safari village, there we met some of the locals.
They later welcomed us with a Kava ceremony, and performed a Meke of traditional songs and
dancing. |

Vanua Levu |
|
|
We moored by the sacred island of Vanua Levu believed to be where the
first Fijians landed, and snorkelled to the shore. Here crew members climbed the
trees to collect coconuts for us to drink the fresh milk. Others used leaves to
weave baskets and rather stylish hats. |
Tivua Island |
|
|
Our last stop on the return to Denarau was at Tivua Island, a tiny, pretty
island in a beautiful lagoon. Here we snorkelled and took a ride in a glass-bottomed
boat. |
